Monroe III, Daniel Lloyd "Danny"

Oldest son of Elva and Danny Monroe, Jr. Was born and raised south of Waukeenah on the Monroe farm, went to school in Waukeenah and Monticello. Married Betty Spratt and had five children. Lloyd IV, Stephen, Stan, Laura, Suzanne. 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren and two more due in September. Brother, Frank and sisters, Barbara Ann, Gloria, and Martha. He always farmed since his tour of duty in the Army. He grew watermelons and winter crops. Raised cattle and hogs. Was a Jefferson County Commissioner for two terms. A busy man!! He was on the ASCS Board for a number of years and took a real interest in all farm projects. He was actively involved in all facets of the Waukeenah United Methodist Church including Sunday School, Choir, and all Church business.
Danny maintained a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to help others. Always the gentleman, he will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor.
